This adventure begins with Kari feeling sad because her best friend had moved away. Herby is a boy that decides to take it upon himself to cheer her up. They go on an exciting skateboard ride which involves an encounter with Bad Bart. Bart is a cross between an alligator and a dragon. He has a rocket-powered skateboard and has yet to learn the meaning of friendship. This action-packed story winds through town and ends up with Bart learning that being mean does not pay.
